Error when trying to update Kenwood TK-8180 firmware
Hi, I followed the instructions when trying to update my firmware from 1.06 to 1.22. I press S and power up the radio. It says program, then I bring up FPRO and it reads the firmware file. FPRO says the same of the 1.22 file but there is no version displayed. It does display the checksum information. The baud rate matches also. I then write and the radio displays PG and blinks and the display looks like it loads the firmware but I get a NO SYSTEM error on the TK8180K radio. The radio is still at 1.06 when I power it up again. I know the cable is good as I use it with 89D software to program the radio. Thank you for any suggestions. Also the firmware update option is checked in the 89D v 1.61 software from when I programmed the radio.

I have seen the TFS mentioned in posts online that it allows users to change frequency information using a keypad microphone. Anyone know how to use this?

Hope it help you because we haven't it in Brazil, the dealers here say they are unaware of it and try to sell me a new radio.
