without knowing the exact cable it is hard for us to help.
I would guess it is a clone Prolific chip as it is the one that causes most driver problems.

You should allready have the cable drivers as its part of the Software,
 check your PC - Program files X86 then click Motorola, you should see Mototrbo Drivers There, Usually Just under Mototrbo CPS also in X86

I have the P8268 P8200 … usually when it comes to the driver it will automatically add a universal driver. If it's stuck searching for a driver than your WIN doesn't have the updated driver nor a driver for that particular cable. If it's not an original, I would assume there's a problem with the handshake between the Radio and the Data of Cable. It's very important to use Original Equipment. After market works also but it's time consuming because it halt to a certain point where it's a connectivity issue. Driver yes that's also important. Have you tried Prolific Drivers .. there's a Driver Package with Old Prolific and Newer Prolific. Try using the Newer Prolific and see if this does the trick . Thanks 73s
