unable to read from GP388

Hi

I'm a newbie and recently I had the opportunity to acquire an old Motorola GP388 to train me.

I have just begun to connect it to my computer hoping to be able to read data with an USB RIB cable.

From the beginning this error occurs : can not create unknown radio component

Quickly, I realized that it seems windows XP is mandatory for the right serial driver and software.

For info :
Radio version : R03.10.03
OS : Win XP thru VirtualBox
Serial Driver tested : Prolific v1.2.9, v.3.2.0 & 3.8.25
Software programming : Motorola CPS GP 300 series R03.01.02, R03.11.15
Update kit: UpgradeKit_5T_Portable-R03.17.01

All has failed, even the upgrading.

Could you explain what I did wrong please ?

 its because of Virtual machine try old windows computer wihch one have com port. and makesure your cps version is right competible with your radio

i used serial with real serial port work fine no issued at all
