How can I fix the error code check model name and market code on kenwood programming

this not fixed please read#You are probably getting this message when you're trying to write to the radio. It means there is a difference in the model information already programmed in the radio versus the model information setting in the software that you're trying to write to the radio. It should also be asking if you want to override and write to the radio.Click on the Model > Model Information tab on the programming software. Make sure the Model Name is correct (in your case TK-2180 Portable). Next field down is the frequency range, so make sure the range is correct for your radio model (TK-2180 is 136 to 174 MHz and this should be the only selection if you have TK-2180 selected in the Model Name. I don't think the Signaling Type and Tactical Feature Set settings produce the warning message you received.If you are sure your model settings are correct on the software and you still get the warning message it's possible the previous file writting to the radio wasn't set to the right model.

I have a Kenwood TK-8180-k and I was trying to read from the radio and it keeps giving me the error message like I previously stated. It is suppose to be a uhf radio . Is it possible that the radio has been programmed as another model number. I haven't tried any other radio models but I can try and see what it will do. I do know when I try to read or write to radio is says program and the stops and gives me the error message. I have also tried 89d and 92 programming software and the 92 is the only one that shows 8180k.

I have tried both. Also I just tried other radio models and still get the the same message

what kind of cable do have usb or serial

I have downloaded software off of here and tried it. I also have ordered two other software cds and still get the same message. Right now it is still looking for software for the usb cable to see if there is an update online
