Hi Jack, I do need some info on programming the IC-F5020 for wide band operation on the 2 meters. I'm using CS-F3020/5020 v3.4 software. But I think I need the firmware or DSP firmware for this to enable the wide band option for HAM usage. Using the CS-F3020/5020 software reverts back to Forced Narrow ON in the common section of the program. If you have any such firmware, would appreciate the share.  Thank you, Tim

CS-F3160/F5060 V4 RR (4.6.3) is for use with Firmware 4.6.4. CS-F3160/F5060 V4 RR (4.6.2) is for use with Firmware 4.6.2. CS-F3160/F5060 V3 RR v2.8.XX software works with Firmware version 3.1.XX CS-F3160/F5060 RR v2.6.XX software works with Firmware version 2.8.XX

Let me rephrase my model of radio I have. I have the IC-F5021.  I want it to use wide band on 2 meters. No matter what I do in the programming software, it will revert back to narrow band.

I have the DSP Firmware 2.5 (EX2958E.EXE)
and the Main Firmware 2.8.5 (FL2986B RR 2.8.5.EXE)
So will these work for the IC-F5021 Radio for the eeprom programming?
I also have the CS-F3160/F5060 2.6.4 Software

Thanks, Tim

Kenwood section lost me too.
i think reverting to a older firmware is one way to get wide-band back.
I have read some has sent there radio to a dealer to get wide-band programming back and still had same firmware.

I was going to d/l this (Icom CS-F3020(B) CPS for IC-F3020 Series Programming Software) but I'm lacking 1 credit for it. I was going to try that software.

I have all the RR programs with all the main firmware and so on, but it tells you to use the correct software. They use main firmware to do the flag setting for the wide band, but I can't find it know where at all, I guess they wanna keep that one under wraps. I have a friend, I'll ask him to see if he can get the main firmware for the IC-F5021 for me.
Thanks
Tim

software is not the problem.
here in the USA the FCC mandated all public service and commercial frequencies are narrow band only.
so ICOM has made all newer LMR radios to program only narrow band and will not switch to wide band.
some dealers can do something to make them be switchable to wide band, we think there is a flag set in the firmware and not sure what they do to get wide band programming back.

What software you are asking about

I have some software that requires a password to unzip.
Needless to say I  don't have the password.
It is a 51MB zip file.

The software is the Nixon software for programming the tait 91xx series radios.

This software is NOT available on this site( I've checked).
The normal Tait software is not compatible with this program.

Help…

I recently purchased a F4161 from eBay (supposed to be new) that already has a code plug installed. I put it on the cloning software to try and read from the radio and get password required from the CS to even read the radio…the radio does not require a password when turning it on.

Question - how do I do a full factory reset on the radio?

Thanks for the help
