ICOM CS-A24 V2 Version for ICOM IC-A6 /24 new 8.33kHz chanel spacing

Cloning and programming software

I have spend lot of money in this airband transceiver as it's the only model I can get to match the current rules and my mini-dashboard…
It is not very well adpated to a fix aircraft radio but otherwise no problem…except programming the memory is a pain…and the programming software is not included.

I found a link at
http://www.radioaficion.com/hamfiles/viewdownload/31-icom-software/1683-cs-a24-programming-software (http://www.radioaficion.com/hamfiles/viewdownload/31-icom-software/1683-cs-a24-programming-software)
but though it is laballed as HAMFILES I found nothing here…and no way to download it on the radioaficion site anywhere…

If you have any clue where to find it, let me know!

Regards

Yves

@Legray: radioaficion is just a scraper site that tries to make money from Google ad's at the expense of the hard work we do here.

The links are frequently invalid (as is the one that brought you here) but the good thing is, the Hamfiles community may be able to help you.

You've posted in the right place so lets hope that one of our very hard working contributors can find what you are looking for.

@Contributor: If you are able to help out @Legray, please PM me and I'll jump the queue and validate it ASAP.

 Hello,

I had no feed back at all yet : Does anyone have a clue where I could find this software ?

As far as the Tx itself, it's a decent device. However, the ancillaries (power supply, external connector…) are just scrap and makes the airplane approval for "fixed" radio specification a joke…

Beside, I have a A6 and I can see really no interest in the A24. Replacing the VOR integrated receiver with a proper GPS would save money and be much better !

Best Regards

Legray,

Not sure about your "V2" software requirement; however I have just uploaded software that WILL program the A24E with 25k & 8.33K channels.
It is 'CS-A24_A6 8.33k Rev1.00'

I know Nick is running behind with validations at the moment, so keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks for its appearance.

I have bounced the validation of this upload to the top of the list as someone is waiting for it.

@legray Please read the whole download page so that you get/use the correct serial number.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the effort!

I am not home this weekend but I will give this software a try as soon as possible. I already have the XP licence PC (with a serial port !) but will need the cable (Serial To IC-A6/24) … and the IC-A6, which I need to remove from my aircraft dashboard to bring home
And ultimately proceed with test.

However, I did try and run the software on this laptop, just to check if it runs under 8.1
The software source file is easily downloaded and unzip.
Installing with the supplied registering number, just as easy…
Under 8.1 the software runs and I was able accessing all menus EXCEPT the help which is not 8.1 compatible.
Of course, I had no way to assess to actual cloning functions (not hardware available here and today!) but the software is clearly stating 8.33kHz …

More to come : I will let you all know all further results in real time

Best regards

Yves

Looking forward to trying this on Windows 7 once I earn enough points to download. Just got an IC-A24. The usb cable, OPC-478UC seems available in a generic form for $9.27 at Off-site URL:www.gmrsoutlet.com/opc478uc.html
I may try that cable, much cheaper than the alternatives.

Hello,

I did try the software with my IC-A6 FR II 8.66 kHz chanel spacing and it work fine both under XP and Windows 8.1
I can read, modify, write anything you can access through the TX keyboard much easily and I can now SAVE this work, share it, and even access some "hidden" function (even if it is not wise to tamper with everything if you don't know exactly what you are doing!)

I now have a windows 10 fitted laptop and I may give it a try, but I am pretty sure Windows 7 will just work fine.

As far as "physical" connection I use a home made USB to serial cable. It was dead simple to build and cost less than 10$.

I may be able to help if you need it : just leave me a PM adress !
